When homeless in the late '80s, in order to get out of a torential downpour I stumbled on this pitiful joint and gagged at the pungent odors of either Lysol or CN disinfectant that hung in its stale air.
For $12. bucks one got a tiny room with a mattress that some previous occupant burnt half away with a cigarette and then must have pissed on to extinguish it. The shared toilet was ventilated with an open windowed air shaft that had a century of accumulated garbage. Amazing the place still stands and hasn't been condemned.

We loved our cabin, The price was reasonable, and it was just what we needed. However, The hostess of the campground, was not there when we arrived, and we did not have any way of checking in. They never told us that we might have to do a self check-in. We eventually found a map of the campground with our name on it, and hunted around until we found our cabin. Also, although this is insignificant money-wise; We were told $47.50 for the cabin. When we eventually met the owner/lady, not only was she terribly unpleasant, and rude, but insisted that we must have been looking at ANOTHER whispering pines, that her cabins were $49.00-Its only $1.50, but it is the mere principle of it. When I made the reservations over the phone, she told me $47.50. If I didnt love the accomodations (and the price) I would defintely not return, but we will definitely be coming back.

Discount hotel rooms are generally offered in two manors. Either you can call a hotel directly, or attempt to book a hotel room online. Online room booking often nets you a cheaper rate since there is no booking overhead involved. Reservations can usually be cancelled with a full refund if 48 hours notice is given. Deals on hotel rooms can vary by season and can be influenced by a themed room, jacuzzi, or other upgrades.
